Faster Healing
Healing Injuries Faster At Cannon Pointe ChiropracticEvery so often we have patients that ask us about how they can heal from injuries faster. We thought that would be a great way to introduce a few health tips that can really help your healing process.
When someone gets hurt their body reacts to the damage. One of the reactions to this damaged tissue is inflammation. This is a normal and healthy process, but it is also painful and it can last for longer than it is supposed to. That is when pain can start to linger beyond the repair stage of the injury. This is no longer a positive response.
Chiropractic Care
How does a person avoid the prolonged inflammatory response? There are several ways that a person can do that. First off, getting adjusted is very helpful for the patient. This frees up your joints allowing for mobility and allows for mechanoreceptors and joint receptors to send proper signals to the brain allowing proper response to the muscles for proper movement and healing. This also allows the lymphatic system to work properly to help reduce inflammation.
Foods
Inflammation is also affected by what you put in your body. That means that what you eat can affect how much your body reacts to injury and damage. Sometimes people’s inflammation is so high from a poor diet (improper nutrition) that they can have pain where injury did not happen. This can be the cause of things like fibromyalgia and Restless Leg Syndrome. To illustrate this we can look at water. When electricity (this can be an analogy for an injury) is applied to pure water (a person with a good diet with low inflammatory foods) the conduction is not that great. However, when you put electrolytes in the water (this would be like a diet full of inflammatory foods) the electricity (an injury) conducts very well; therefore, causing pain.
